Preona is making LazyReadr, a personalized journalist for iPad that merges articles from different sources and adds recommendations from your social network while curating all of your content to bring you just the news that you want. Two million iPads were sold in the first two months and it is estimated the figure will have been 12MM by the end of this year and possibly reaching as high as 100MM by the end of 2012. Our unique approach to automating personalization is using an ensemble of machine learning algorithms that are tweaked for each user’s habits to provide the best content recommendations. Preona will be releasing LazyReadr to the AppStore at the beginning of October and is looking to raise seed funding for continued R&D and beginning advertising presence.
