Open Pins Vienna is the open data catalogue of Vienna for your iPhone. The App shows all location-based information provided by the city of Vienna and lets you use and share those category-based information.

About Open Pins Vienna
The Open Pins Vienna App uses the Vienna Governments Open Data Catalogue together with the inhouse development framework Pins to show all civil/public amenities/buildings in Vienna. By implementing the Pins framework, the app can easily convey all the government published data, in a detailed and user friendly manner. Once installed no data-upgrades will be required by the user - if any new data from the Open Data Catalogue becomes available it will just be added to the existing content by using an easy to handle administration tool.

Based upon the web-based backend of Pins we have developed a tool that "maps" the location metadata from the Gov's Catalogue into the app in map and list forms.

About the Pins Framework
Pins is a location-based Service comprising of a content management system, an API and an iPhone App (Android in working process). Using Pins as the underlying platform enables you to create your own location based service by using a state-of-the-art app solution and hook into the huge app-market channel with a powerful marketing and navigation tool. Users of the framework are able to manage all kinds of content for locations such as comments, pictures and videos, ratings, social sharing and other metadata like opening hours, address and routing information, email, web-links or phone numbers. The user-interface presents 'Locations' to the users in either a dynamic map, a distance-ordered list or an augmented reality based view, which allows users to browse through all the available content.

Optimized for other cities
The software was developed with focus on porting to other cities too. All other cities offering other open government data can hook into our system and can get their own branded Open Pins "CITYNAME" App.
