Description
Shotl is a flexible transportation service, between a taxi and a flexible bus, that matches multiple passengers headed in the same direction with an available vehicle.
With Shotl, users indicate where they want to move to and get picked-up and dropped-off within a five-minute walk by a professional driver. Shotl vehicles are not a car nor a traditional bus, but middle-sized vehicles for up to 8-15 people designed to guarantee your privacy and comfort while you travel in an eco-friendly manner. The Shotl experience continues on board, while you work with the WiFi service that is provided or simply relax and chat with your friends.
Shotl avoids running empty buses by having no fixed routes or schedules. Instead, vehicle routes are created in real-time based on the incoming user’s demands, finding the most efficient trip combinations. Shotl works with local city councils and transport operators to enable them complement their current public transport networks an innovative and flexible solution.
We have already developed pilots in collaboration with SEAT, the UPC and RACC (see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vs2pvstbFao) and with the bus operator Moventis and the City Council of Sant Cugat (see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6bcdxD3xAq4).
All the Shotl experience is designed in such a way to be flexible, reliable and sort of fun: download Shotl App, insert your destination and in just a few minutes a vehicle going your same way will pick you up.
