Provides value for money community engagement between public, police and policing partners to tackle anti-social behaviour, solve crimes and build local confidence.
Social media mobile apps for engaging the public with police.
Developed with the help of Surrey Police, using only open public data, this is a Home Office 'trailblazer' project.
500 officers & staff use our apps for quick real time updates, without wasting time, resulting in increased confidence in policing through open visibility and amplification of policing.
The public see what's happening, right now, on maps on their phones, as well as videos, photos and social interactions from the neighbourhood teams, local and county police priorities, events and news. They can compare police activities with monthly crime for the selected area and hold the police to account by sharing the crime figures online
The cost of this kind of engagement is much less than traditional communications.
