Wheelmap.org is an online map for wheelchair-accessible places. As with Wikipedia, everyone can participate by tagging public places according to their accessibility.
This way, a modern and global solution for wheelchair users or other people with limited mobility is being created. The OpenStreetMap-based map helps mobility-impaired people to plan their day more efficiently.
Additionally, the high awareness which is raised by Wheelmap
can encourage owners of public places to improve their location’s
accessibility. Thereby Wheelmap.org contributes to a more
inclusive society.
