July 4th AppCircus London @ Google: Meet the London Jury!

The upcoming AppCircus @ Google Campus event is set to be of another great reference for the London-based app developers to showcase their talent and for the local app ecosystem players to learn about new the business opportunities in this exciting and fast-moving space.

Here below is the jury to select the apps and who will be judging the apps on stage at Google Campus on July 4th. AppCircus London winners of previous editons include SwiftKey, Masabi and Echo Echo. Check this The Next Web review on the latest AppCircus in London we organised in November 2011.

Developers can register their app here to enter the AppCircus @ Google Campus London contest. Registration deadline is June 19th. The winning app will be nominated for the next edition of the Mobile Premier Awards in Barcelona.

The event is free, you only need to register here to attend.

Google Campus London

The jury members include:

Simon Cross, Engineer, Facebook London.
Simon Cross is an Engineer on Facebook‘s Platform team. He works with companies like Spotify, The Guardian and SoundCloud to build their social integrations on the web and on mobile. Before Facebook, Simon worked at the BBC building social products and services like BBC iD. Outside of hacking on music and social tech, Simon plays the drums in The Poor Souls of Pompeii.

Paul Sawers, Apps & Media Editor at The Next Web.
Paul Sawers is Apps & Media Editor at The Next Web, a leading digital publication covering Internet technology, business and culture. Paul was previously UK Editor at The Next Web, but made the switch in early 2012 to cover all-things ‘App’, whilst continuing to cover news and write features on the digital media space.

Daniel Appelquist, Head of Product Management for BlueVia.
Daniel Appelquist is a mobile and Web industry veteran technologist who has been bringing innovative and disruptive services to market for two decades. He was an early Internet and Web pioneer, and has been a dot-com CTO and later a dot-com refugee. While at Vodafone, he helped to launch Vodafone Live! In the UK and has been instrumental in the development of industry standards initiatives and ventures such as dotMobi, the W3C Mobile Web Initiative, and device APIs such as the W3C Geolocation browser API. He recently completed a two year term on the Technical Architecture Group, the architecture steering board for the W3C. He has been a community instigator, founding MobileMonday London as well as the Mobile 2.0 conference series in San Francisco and the Over the Air hack days in the UK. In his current role as Head of Product Management for BlueVia, Telefónica Digital’s developer and network APIs platform, he is working to once again redefine the boundary between Web and Mobile.

Limvirak Chea, Director Business Development Europe & Middle East, InMobi.
Limvirak joined InMobi in May of 2010 and runs business development for Europe and Middle East, with an emphasis on apps developers. Top games developers Rovio Mobile, Electronic Arts, Gameloft, Zynga,  are now working with InMobi to monetize their games with in-app advertising.

Prior to InMobi, he spent four years at Google  where he lead  Strategic Partnerships focusing on mobile and distribution and then moved onto Google’s New Business Development team helping the Product and Engineering teams bring new products to market through early-stage, exploratory deals and engaging with the tech community.  Limvirak has also led the Android Market in Europe. Limvirak graduated from the Ecole Centrale Paris with a Diplôme d’Ingénieur, and holds a Masters in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University.

Sid Thekkepat, Associate of m8 Capital.
Sid is an associate at m8 Capital. A mobile-focused VC in London. Sid has strong experience in the mobile technology sector and has advised multiple mobile operators across Asia and Europe.
Prior to this he was a management consultant with Oliver Wyman working with telcos on strategic issues and advising them on their M&A activity.
Recently, he also worked with Vodafone on a project to identify adjacent market growth for mobile operators opportunities including NFC, healthcare, cloud computing and financial services. Mr. Thekkepat is a graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology (B.S.) and of London Business School (MBA).
