CookBooth gana AppCircus Barcelona con su propuesta para foodies y chefs

La aplicación CookBooth ha ganado AppCircus Barcelona con su solución para compartir fotorecetas entre chefs, gourmets y foodies de todo el mundo. La app 1Min late, que avisa de dónde estás a la persona que te espera cuando llegas tarde, ha sido la runner-up. El evento, con un altísimo nivel, ha estrenado la gira AppCircus 2014.

AppCircus ha reunido en la Antigua Fábrica Damm las aplicaciones móviles Android más innovadoras del momento. El llamamiento a participar en AppCircus Barcelona ha acaparado la participación de cerca de 200 apps, de entre las cuales diez han resultado elegidas para formar parte de él. El evento ha estado abierto al público, que ha podido vivir en directo las presentaciones de las apps en el escenario, todas ellas con un altísimo nivel.

Ha abierto AppCircus Barcelona Ignasi Elías, CEO de Goles Messenger, una aplicación con más de 500.000 usuarios activos. Ignasi Elías ha formado también parte del jurado, junto con  María Baquedano, Content Acquisition Manager en Amazon; Ricardo Carbonero, responsable de Content Acquisition, Mobile initiatives en Amazon; Gina Tost, periodista experta en tecnología móvil y videojuegos; Francis Casado, fundador de Mobile Media Content; Marisol López, Digital Manage en el  Institut Català de les Empreses Culturals; Pere Torrents, mEducation Project Manager, GSMA;  Juan Antonio Corrales, cofundador de Applicantes.com, y Martín Morillo, Marketing & Communication Manager de Tappx.

El showcase ha mostrado las principales tendencias en el ecosistema de aplicaciones móviles para dispositivos Android. La aplicación ganadora ha recibido una nominación para participar en los Mobile Premier Awards, considerados los premios de referencia del sector de las aplicaciones móviles, así como diferentes premios para promocionar su app, por cortesía de Amazon, Tappx y Theappgengy.

November 22th AppCircus on Health with Medica: Meet the Jury!

AppCircus on health with MEDICA will be arriving in Düsseldorf on November 22nd for the second time, giving developers the chance to showcase their apps at the world’s biggest travelling app showcase.

Here below is the jury  who will be judging the apps on stage at Medica Düsseldorf, hall 15, Health & IT Forum. The winner will be invited to present in MEDICA WORLD AMERICA’s (Houston, TX, April 28-30, 2014) and get an opportunity to be nominated for the Mobile Premier Awards 2014, to be held in Barcelona during the Mobile World Congress 2014.

The jury members are:

Tom Mitchell started his trade show career at Messe Düsseldorf North America (MDNA) in Chicago in 1993.  As U.S. Marketing & Development Manager, he was responsible for the promotion of some of the world’s leading industry trade fairs, including drupa, K, Medica, interpack, and boot Düsseldorf.  During this time he also launched the first Internet presence for MDNA as well as the creation of a customized database system for sales and customer management. Tom participates actively in the industry and is a member of the International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE) and Society of Independent Show Organizers (SISO).  He was recently elected to the Board of Directors of the German American Chamber of Commerce of the Midwest.

Mark Waechter is marketer with many years professional and leadership experience in the areas of FMCG (Unilever), Internet (UUNET, WorldCom) and Wireless (T-Mobile). In May 2005 he founded MWC.mobi, a worldwide active management consultancy focusing on Mobile Strategy Development and served clients in over 30 countries on four continents in the past years. Mark is head of the Mobile Marketing Association (MMA) in Germany (locally known as BVDW Section Mobile) and member of MMAs Board of Directors. In 2009 he joined the advisory board of MOCOM2020 and in 2011 he got partner of the METRO GROUP Future Store Initiative as well as member of the Advisory Board of the GS1 Germany MobileCom. Since September 2013 he chairs the advisory board of Germany’s first Master Degree Program in Mobile Marketing at Leipzig School of Media.

Frederic Llordachs-Marqués is the co-founding member of www.doctoralia.com, the global platform for online doctors’ appointments. www.doctoralia.com offers access to the best medical resources on the web; in 2012 www.doctoralia.com had 65 million users around 21 countries in the world (a predicted forecast of more than 100 million users in 2013). Doctoralia’s app was the “2012 MEDICA Apps” winner. With 10 years’ experience in management of medical insurance companies in Spain, they are well established in private health services, broadcasting ICT’s in health and the innovation in the Health Sector. Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery, with a MBA from ESADE, specialized in Medical Management.Frederic Llordachs-Marqués is currently also responsible of eHealth in ACES, www.aces.es (the employers’ private health organization in Catalonia).

AppCircus on Health with MEDICA brings in the crowds

The first AppCircus dedicated exclusively to the growing market for medical apps attracted an enthusiastic response from the crowds at the MEDICA event in Dusseldorf. Attendees saw a wide range of applications for health and fitness, including solutions to use mobile technology to test for heart attack symptoms, give nutritional advice and to help health professionals offer a better service to their patients.

Over 200 visitors crammed into the hall at the MEDICA event to watch the presentations with participants showing great interest in the possibilities for medical apps to revolutionize the way we interact with medical services and diagnostics through smart mobile technology. After a close event that saw pitches from app makers from different countries the eventual winer was Doctoralia, with Handyscope taking the second prize.

We’re excited to announce the jury to pitch at theApps ON Health conference organized by the Hospital Sant Joan de Déu in Barcelona on the 19th of March 2012. The conference brings together international thought leaders to explore the business opportunities of mobile apps in the healthcare and wellness industry.

The selected developers will do a 3-minute pitch of their app in front of the international jury of experts below. The winner will get the chance to perform a live 3min demo in Doctors & You 2.0, the International Healthcare Social Media & Web 2.0 Conference in Europe (May 23-24 2012, Paris) and the winner will also have the possibility to win a nomination to the Mobile Premier Awards, during the 2013 Mobile World Congress.

CHIA HWU

Chia Hwu, CEOChia’s background spans product design, marketing, and both hard sciences and the visual arts. Before Qubop, she was Director of Marketing at Ansca Mobile, where she was responsible for leading brand strategy, public relations, and product marketing.

Chia previously worked at 23andMe, where she built the company’s user communities, using a network of enthusiastic users to successfully launch a new product. In addition, she created a new business line with niche customers of the service, and managed some of the earliest efforts in marketing genetics to consumers.

Chia has worked in biotech as a medicinal chemist, completed all coursework for a PhD in Chemistry, received her MS from UCSD, and earned her bachelor’s degree from Williams College. She is a coauthor of Teach Yourself the Twitter API in 24 Hours (Sams) and an expert at the integration of game mechanics and social features into apps.

DAN PHILLIPS

Dan Phillips

Dan brings more than five years of healthcare strategy consulting experience to Healthbox. Most recently, he served on the founding team of Physician Career Management Group (PCMG), an agency that represents early career physicians seeking job placement, contract review, and business advisory services.

Prior to joining PCMG, Dan served as a senior consultant with The Camden Group, specializing in organization-wide business planning and service line development, with a focus on strategic and financial planning. He also spent a few years with Sg2, a healthcare consulting and thought leadership firm, where he worked with health systems in the UK, Canada, and Southeast Asia, focusing on international standards of clinical excellence and care delivery models.

Dan earned his Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, where he majored in biology. He currently chairs the Associate Board of Urban Students Empowered, a nonprofit that offers college prep services to underprivileged high schools students in Chicago.

LEKSHMY PARAMESWARAN

Lekshmy ParameswaranLekshmy Parameswaran is a founding partner of fuelfor, an innovation design consultancy specialised in healthcare and based in Barcelona. With more than 10 years of healthcare industry experience, she has been leading programs to generate and translate insights into new business value propositions for public and private sector clients in EU, USA and Asia.

At fuelfor she is responsible for Insights Research and Strategy, bringing the voices of patients, their families and care providers into the innovation process in inspiring ways. A strong thread through her work is the abilit to communicate credibly across disciplines: encouraging innovation teams to challenge conventional thinking and to use design thinking and doing as a strategic tool for innovation.

Prior to founding fuelfor, Lekshmy enjoyed a 10-year career working with Philips Healthcare supporting the development of their Care Cycle strategy, Consumer Healthcare and Ambient Experience businesses.

She holds a Master of Engineering degree from Cambridge University and a Master of Arts from the Royal College of Art in London.

JORGE CARRASCO

Jorge CarrascoSenior Consultant at Telefonica for mobile apps business development. Telecom engineer and MBA with honorable mention at IE Business School, he works in creating innovative business models in mobility areas, managing a customer portfolio with more than 150 customers and giving support to more than 2000. Previously he has worked in enterprises such as Ericsson and Accenture.

XAVIER LORENZ

Xavier LorenzPassionate about communication and innovation, with a bachelor of Medicine and Surgery. Professionally, he has been dedicated to strategic marketing and communication within the healthcare sector since the early 1990s. Previously, he worked as an A&E doctor, Medical and Marketing Unit Manager for Boehringer Mannheim and Business Unit Manager for Roche Pharmaceuticals. He is Co-founder and Managing Director of innuo, started in 2002, and he collaborates as a Professor at a variety of universities.
