La aplicación móvil Splyce, una app para sentirse como un DJ, gana AppCircus Barcelona

La aplicación móvil Splyce, que selecciona la música de dispositivos móviles y la mezcla de forma automática, creada por la start-up InQBarna, ha ganado AppCircus Barcelona. La segunda aplicación clasificada ha sido el juego para iPhone e iPad Muster my Monsters, concebido para cuatro jugadores que tienen que mostrar su rapidez de reflejos para hacer frente a una panda de monstruos.

Splyce “es una app que lleva la experiencia musical a una nueva dimensión, de una forma visual y muy atractiva para el usuario”. Lanzada para dispositivos iOS (iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch) en julio de este año, “ya ha logrado 600.000 descargas en la App Store y ha sido promocionada por Apple entre las mejores apps nuevas de 2013 y las de mejor diseño”. Los usuarios “eligen su música favorita y Splyce les guía para sacar el máximo partido” a las canciones, incorporando efectos visuales y distintos efectos de mezcla, que “permiten sumergirse en el mundo DJ”, explica Nacho Sánchez, uno de los socios fundadores de InQBarna.

Las diez apps finalistas que han competido en AppCircus Barcelona han mostrado soluciones punteras en ámbitos como el turismo, el entretenimiento, los negocios, la música, la comunicación o el estilo de vida. Su calidad “acredita la vitalidad del sector de las aplicaciones en la ciudad”, donde “existe una industria creciente vinculada al ecosistema móvil”, destaca Carles Ferreiro, el CEO de AppCircus.

Celebrado en la Antiga Fábrica Damm, AppCircus Barcelona ha reunido a cerca de dos centenares de desarrolladores, diseñadores, empresas y profesionales del ecosistema móvil. El jurado ha estado integrado por expertos de primer nivel, en representación de compañías y firmas como Betfair, Incubio, Wowbile, Mobivery, BlackBerry, Kind o el FC Barcelona.

Splyce será evaluada por un jurado global junto con el resto de apps ganadoras de los AppCircus celebrados durante el año y podrá ser una de las 20 apps participantes en los Mobile Premier Awards 2014, los premios de referencia a nivel internacional del mundo de las apps, que tendrán lugar el próximo 24 de febrero en Barcelona coincidiendo con el Mobile World Congress.


Jury AppCircus in Lisbon

On December 16th, the AppCircus arrives to Lisbon to showcase the best apps of the region. Hello Portugal! AppCircus co-founder Rudy De Waele (@mtrends) will moderate the event.

The deadline to submit your app is on Dec 2nd, so hurry up! In a few days we will communicate which are the 10 selected apps that will pitch on the stage at the Vodafone Portugal Headquarters (Parque das Nações, Lisbon).

Remember that from the 10 apps that pitch on stage, the jury will reward the best with the following prizes:

  • The overall winner will get a chance to be one of the 20 apps pitching at the Mobile Premier Awards during MWC 2012, plus a smartphone offered by Vodafone.
  • For the best Symbian or S40 App, Nokia will offer the newest Nokia Smartphone.
  • Last Minute news: Nokia just announced a special prize to the Developer that presents the best Windows Phone app!!

Meet the professionals that will be part of the jury on stage:

Nuno Inácio, Senior Product Manager at Vodafone Portugal. More than 10 years of experience on the Telecommunications field, having a large and broad scale knowledge of various areas of this industry, namely roaming, high-level technical flows, mobile payments, apps and developer marketing.

Vasco Elvas, Head of Innovation Design & Engineering at Vodafone Portugal. He has also worked as the head of Innovation in Vodafone Portugal and the Senior Technical Manager, Internet Services in Vodafone Portugal.

Nicolau Mesquita, Iberian Music & Messaging Business Manager & Portugal Services Coordination at Nokia Mobile Phones. Previously he worked as the Services and Online Business Manager on Nokia Mobile Phones.

Nuno Ribeiro, a manager focused on the business of media on digital platforms, has since 2008 been the director of the Multimedia Business of the Controlinveste group. He is an ambassador for Portugal in the only worldwide association of professionals and leaders in the operations and technology of on-line advertising – AdMonsters. Regularly writes opinion articles for Cibertransistor.com, Diário de Notícias and Meios & Publicidade.

San Francisco is ready for another AppCircus

San Francisco is the heart of the tech world and the itinerant app show will be there again on June 29th.

[email protected] will take place during The Emerging Communications Conference & Awards (eComm), which will focus on the future of Telecom and its relation with mobile and Internet.

The media industry is changing rapidly, faster than ever, and this has to do with the huge improvement and innovation in communications technologies process we are going through. Now more than ever Internet and mobile technologies define the future of media and eComm was formed to analyse and participate in such process.

AppCircus will bring its show to the eComm 2011 to provide another great opportunity for developers. 10 apps will be chosen to pitch to in front of the jury. AppCircus winners can make it to the big stage: they are nominated for the pool of apps from which the 20 finalists for the Mobile Premier Awards 2012 will be selected

You can apply to as many AppCircus as you wish, until you are selected to present. Once you have presented, you cannot submit that app again; it’s someone else’s turn!
