The evening of Thursday 6 November Appcircus gathered creative developers from all over California for a special event in San Francisco, at Galvanize, in the heart of SoMa. The event was organized in partnership with Google Developers Startup Launch and featured 9 innovative apps pitching live on stage in front of a jury of experts and a vibrant audience.
Fansino App got the 1st place, with the innovative idea and concept to give artists the ability to monitor who is listening to their music in real-time across all major streaming services and easily target those fans.
As a prize, Fansino app got a direct slot to pitch at the Mobile Premier Awards 2015 which is the largest cross-platform app showcase in the mobile industry, providing a point of reference for the startup and app community during the Mobile World Congress.
During the evening, a brilliant keynote JP Gil, Interaction designer at Android Wear, gave a speech on How to design for Android Wear. Here is a short abstract from the speech:
‘Designing for any new form factor is hard. With new wearable form factors like Android Wear, you aren’t scaling down your mobile UI and porting it to a smaller screen; you are designing new paradigms for computing.
But we believe the user’s life is more important than technology. That’s why we designed Android Wear to operate around micro interactions and to get out of the user’s way. Android Wear experiences are quick, glanceable and relevant. They provide the right contextual information, where and when you need it’.
A special presence was the Ebola app developers, who presented on stage, outside the competition, their innovative app idea to help the fight against Ebola.
