Matthew is the rare Canadian export residing in Finland, and the marketing brains behind the Angry Birds phenomenon. Through a mixture of market analysis and a good feel for what works in the application space and what doesn’t, Matthew has helped Rovio achieve viral levels of market penetration with zero budget. Matthew has a wide knowledge of the mobile marketplace, ranging from customer retention to different monetization strategies. With a background in various forms of online marketing, Matthew is taking the Angry Birds brand to new domains on an unprecedented scale for a mobile application.

Anoop Ranganath – Lead iPhone Developer at foursquare.

Anoop is the lead iPhone developer at foursquare, a location-based mobile platform that makes cities easier to use and more interesting to explore. Previously, he created Graffitio, an iPhone application that allowed users to attach conversations to places.

StaceyHigginbotham, Senior Writer, GigaOM.
StaceyHigginbotham is happy when immersed in SEC filings, tech specs or pokingthrough a data center. She has spent the last eleven years covering technology andfinance for publications such as The Deal, the Austin Business Journal, TheBond Buyer and BusinessWeek, and works remotely from Austin, Texas.

Neil Mansilla – Developer Advocate at Mashery API Network.
Neil is a passionate software engineer and tech entrepreneur. Neil previously founded several web and software companies in verticals including search, e-commerce, real estate and healthcare. He is responsible for helping developers discover, learn and utilize the platforms on the Mashery API Network.

Gianfranco Chicco is currently the Chief Dreamer Officer at Conference Basics (www.conferencebasics.com), consulting for several international organizations. AppCircus @ Circus Mashimus at SXSW 2012

Through a partnership with Mashery we will be present again this year at the Circus Mashimus in SXSW Interactive 2012. We are ready to be part of one of the premier conferences for technology and innovation in the world. South by South West is clearly a must attend event in your agenda!

We will be showcasing mobile apps from all over the world at the Circus Mashimus tent, you will get to see apps that have presented at the Mobile Premier awards and AppCircus winners from 2011 as well as the latest apps applying to pitch for this event.

We will be showcasing mobile apps from all over the world at the Circus Mashimus tent, you will get to see apps that have presented at the Mobile Premier awards and AppCircus winners from 2011 as well as the latest apps applying to pitch for this event. AppCircus finalists will be showcased for an hour on Saturday and Sunday, March 10th-11th, with a final showcase on Monday, March 12th from 2-4 pm.

March 10th and 11th: You will get to see each day a couple of the 2011 Mobile Premier Award winners, we will give each mobile application 3 minutes to pitch. So you wont get bored hearing a long speech, Mashery will be providing some beverages and popcorn to enjoy the show. We might have a few surprises for all the attendees.

We will be showcasing apps from 14:00 to 15:00. So make sure to be ready to see the mobile showcase we are preparing with past AppCircus winners from around the globe.

March 12th: The big show, we will open up the “call for apps” until the 21st of February. So make sure to sign up at AppCircus, upload the information for the application you want to pitch and then apply for [email protected] Mashimus, Austin event.

At Google Jyri was Product Manager of mobile applications including Mobile Calendar and the Gmail Mobile client, and started up social products including Google Buzz, Google Profiles, and Google Latitude. Jyri is an advisor/angel investor in companies such as Applifier, Betabrand, and Mobclix. Before founding Jaiku Jyri was Senior Product Manager, Internet Handhelds at Nokia. Smule is a leading developer of mobile social music applications having created and published several of the top applications for the iPhone and iPad. Recent releases include Glee, I Am T-Pain, Ocarina, Magic Piano and Magic Fiddle.

AppCircus is heading to South by South West.

This time we are crossing the Atlantic to take part of the premier technology conference in North America, we are going to be at SXSW Interactive 2011 inside the Circus Mashimus tent setup by Mashery.

Come hang with the geeks and freaks under the Austin big top at SXSW Interactive! The Circus Mashimus Lounge is back for SXSW Interactive with Geek Love. Mullets & mermaids, popcorn & hot dogs, caffeine & beer — you’ll find it all at Circus Mashimus.  We’ve got dedicated internet routers, plenty of power strips to recharge your batteries, couches to chill on and recharge your feet, and cool beats to recharge your body.

AppCircus winners and nominees from the Mobile Premier Awards 2011 will be showcased, so if you missed your chance to be in Barcelona for the awards. This will be your chance to get a small glimpse on what went down at the MPA’s during the Mobile World Congress.

One of the opportunities we are offering attendees is to experience two types of events at Circus Mashimus, the event will be held from the 12th to the 14th of March.This is a the first time AppCircus will be run on several days, but we figure that we need to promote as much apps as we can during our stay in Austin, so make sure to grab some refreshments and popcorn in the tent and enjoy the show.
